The Durham County Social Services Division of Aging and Adult Services offers a variety of in-home and community-based programs and services to seniors, adults with disabilities and their families.

Our Division’s strategic plan is to help Durham residents achieve self-sufficiency, safety, health, and independence. The goal is to provide seniors and adults with the security they need, so that they can remain safely in the community. We want the highest quality of life for those who reside in adult and family care homes in Durham County.

  • Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation
  • Special Assistance In-Home

To report abuse, neglect, or exploitation of adult/elderly or disabled adults 

when our offices are closed (weekends, holidays, and/or after 5:30 P.M.

Please call 984-243-1280, and an after-hours social worker will be contacted.

 

  

DCoDSS will investigate all alleged abuse, neglect and exploitation of elder and disabled adults. If substantiated, we will provide services to improve or eliminate the situation with adult consent. We will meet with the legal system, if necessary when the individual does not have capacity to consent to services.

 

You may remain anonymous when you report abuse.
